therefore,

f(-2)= 0

Substituting x=-2 in f(x),

f(-2)=(-2)³+k(-2)²+4(-2)+12

= -8+k.4-8+12

= 4k-16+12

= 4k-4

Now,

4k-4 =0

=> 4(k-1)=0

=> k-1 =0

=> k=1
