On putting x = 1 then,

f(1) = a(1)²+b(1)+c

=> f(1) = a+b+c

Now, on putting x = -1

f(-1) = a(-1)²+b(-1)+c

=> f(-1) = a-b+c

As given that in questions :

f(1) = f(-1)

According to the question :

a+b+c = a-b+c

=> 2b = 0

=> b = 0

So, the value of b will be 0
