hey
____

x-2 = 0
x= 2

f(2)= 2-2
f(2)= 0

finding the zero or root of a polyinomial f(x) means solving the polynomial equation f(x) = 0

hence, 2 is the root of the polynomial bcoz on putting 2 in the place of x we get the final ans zero

hope helped
