f(x) = x^2 + 2x + 1

g(x) = x + 2

=> x = -2

=> f(-2) = (-2)^2 + 2(-2) + 1

= 4 - 4 + 1

= 1

\large\mathcal\red{solution}

f(x) = x {}^{2}  + 2x + 1 \\ g(x) = x + 2 \\ now \: applying \: the \: remainder \: theorem \: \\ x + 2 = 0 \\ x - 2 \\ therefore \: the \: remainder \: is \: when \: \\ ... f(x) \: is \: divided \: by \: g(x).... \\ f( - 2) = ( - 2) {}^{2}  + 2( - 2)1 \\  = 4 - 4 + 1 \\  = 1
