\mathfrak{question-}F(x) y^3-y^2-y-1 find f(y+1)

\mathfrak{here\:is\:the\:solution\:for \:the question  }

Given :

f(y) = y^{3}  - y^{2}  - y - 1

To find :

f(y + 1)

f(y) = y^{3}  - y^{2}  - y - 1

f(y) = y^{2}  ( y - 1) - ( y + 1)

Now,

f(y +1) = (y + 1)^{2}  ( y + 1 - 1) - ( y + 1 +1)

f(y +1) = y ( y + 1)^2 - ( y + 2)

f(y +1) = y ( y^{2}  + 1 + 2y) - y - 2

f(y +1) = y^{3}  + y + 2y^{2} - y - 2

f(y +1) = y^{3} +2y^{2} - 2

Therefore, If f(y) =y^{3} - y^{2} - y - 1 then, f(y+1) = y^{3}+ 2y^{2}  - 2

(OR)

Given,

f(x) =y^{3} - y^{2}  - y - 1

Since y is a constant with respect to x here,

f(x) = c = y^{3} - y^{2} - y - 1

Now, f(y + 1) = c = y^{3}  -y^{2}  - y - 1x^{2}
