Complete Question :- The jar shows the number of pebbles in the jar, which is rounded off to hundred. Choose the possible number of pebbles in the jar.

we know that, :-

• When rounding to the nearest hundred, look at the tens digit of the number.
• If that digit is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, you will round down to the previous hundred. { The hundreds digit does not change.}
• If that digit is 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, you will round up to the next hundred. { The hundreds digit increases by one.}
• All rest digits changes into 0.

Rounding off to hundred we get,

A) 3502

→ ten' digit = 0

we will round down to the previous hundred.

→ 3500 .

B) 2489

→ ten's digit = 8

we will round up to the next hundred .

→ 2500 .

C) 3875

→ ten's digit = 7

we will round up to the next hundred .

→ 3900 .

D) 3425

→ ten' digit = 2

we will round down to the previous hundred.
