Answer:

tsa = 368.06 m²

vol = 716.87 m³

Step-by-step explanation:

given,

radius = 4.9 m

height = 9.5 m

surface area of the tank = 2πrh + πr²

TSA = 2 x 22/7 x 4.9 x 9.5 + 22/7 x 4.9²

TSA = 292.6 + 75.46

TSA = 368.06 m²

volume of the tank = πr2h

v = 22/7 x 4.9 x 4.9 x 9.5

v = 716.87 m³

hope this helps :)

please mark brainliest, thanks!

Given

  • The radius of open tank is 4.9 m
  • The height of the tank is 9.5 m

___________________________

To Find

  • The Total Surface Area
  • Litres of Water it can hold

___________________________

Solution

Since the tank is in cylinder shape we will first find the TSA (Total Surface Area) of the tank.

The formula for find the TSA of a cylinder is ⇒ 2πr(r+h)

In the given formula 'r' stands for radius and 'h' stands for height.

But in the given question we see that the tank is an open tank. Therefore we must subtract the surface area on the top. So the area of the upper surface would be ⇒ πr²

So we would use this formula in the following case to find the TSA of the give tank ⇒ 2πr(r+h)-πr²

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 4.9 (4.9+9.5)-\dfrac{22}{7} \times (4.9)^{2}

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 4.9 \times 14.4-\dfrac{22}{7} \times (4.9)^{2}

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 4.9 \times 14.4-\dfrac{22}{7} \times (4.9)^{2}

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 141.12\times \dfrac{22}{7}-\dfrac{22}{7} \times 24.01

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 20.16\times 22- 22\times 3.43

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 443.52-75.46

TSA of the Given Tank ⇒ 368.06 \ m^{2}

∴ The TSA of the Given Tank is 368.06 m²

Now let's move on to the second part of the question which is to find 'How many litres of water can the tank hold?'

To find this we will use this formula ⇒ πr²h

Volume of Given Tank ⇒ \dfrac{22}{7}\times (4.9)^{2}\times 9.5

Volume of Given Tank ⇒ \dfrac{22}{7}\times 24.01\times 9.5

Volume of Given Tank ⇒ \dfrac{22}{7}\times 228.095

Volume of Given Tank ⇒ 22\times 32.585

Volume of Given Tank ⇒ 716.87 \ m^{3}

∴ The tank can hold 716.87 m³ of water.

Now we'll convert that into litres as the question asks us for.

⇒ 1 m³ = 1000 L

⇒ 716.87 m³ = 716870  L

∴ The given tank can hold upto 716870  litres of water.
