Given,

Polynomial: x² + y - xy - x.

To find,

Factors of the given polynomial.

Solution,

Let the given polynomial be represented by p(x). That is,

p(x) = x² + y - xy - x.

Now, the factors of the polynomial p(x) can be found using factorization, as follows.

Rearranging p(x),

p(x) = x² - xy - x + y

Now, simplifying, or factorizing the above expression, we get,

p(x) = x(x - y) - (x - y)

⇒ p(x) = (x - 1)(x - y)

Factors of p(x) = (x - 1) and (x - y).

Therefore, the factors of x² + y - xy - x, will be (x - 1) and (x - y).
