a^{2} - 64

We know the square root for 64 that is 8

So,

    a^{2} - 8^{2}

Using Identity,

                           a^{2} - b^{2}  =  ( a + b ) ( a - b )

                           a^{2} - 8^{2}    =  ( a + 8 ) ( a - 8 )

So, the factors of a^{2} - 64 are ( a + 8 )  ( a - 8 )

Answer:

a^2 - 64 = (a - 8) (a + 8)

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula: a^2 - b^2 = (a - b) (a + b)

64 is a square of 8.

a^2 - 64 \\= a^2 - 8^2

= (a - 8) (a + 8)

So, a^2 - 64 = (a - 8) (a + 8)
