a^2 - ( 3 a plus 2a ) plus 6 -- 0 then, a^2 - 3a -2a plus 6 --0 then, a (a-3 ) -2 ( a- 3 ) -0 hence, ( a - 3 ) ( a - 2 )

Here,
The sum is - 5
The product is 6
So the numbers are - 3,-2

Therefore,
 {a}^{2}  - 5a + 6 \\  {a}^{2}  - 3a - 2a + 6 \\ a(a - 3) - 2(a - 3) \\ (a - 1)  (a - 3) \\ a - 1 = 0  \\ a = 1 \\ a - 3 = 0 \\ a = 3
That is,
a = 2
a = 3
