Solution:

=5y^2-45y-110

=5(y^2-9y-22)

The coefficients are a=1,b=-9,c=-22

Find pair of factors whose product is a⋅c=1⋅-22=-22 and sum is b=-9

The pairs of factors for 22 and their differences are
1,22:22-1=21

2,11:11-2=9

Factors are 2,-11 whose product is 2⋅-11=-22 and sum is 2+(-11)=-9

So use 2 and -11 to split the -9 coefficient on the middle term

=5(y^2+2y-11y-22)

=5(y(y+2)-11(y+2))

=5(y+2)(y-11)

Hope it will help.
