Factories the following:

(i) x^2 + 1/x^2 - 2 - 3x + 3/x.
(ii) a^2 x^2 + (ax^2 + 1) x + a.

Answer:

(i) x² + 1/x² - 2 - 3x + 3/x.

 =  {x}^{2}  + ( \frac{1}{x} {)}^{2}  - 2 - 3x \:   +   \frac{3}{x}

 = (x -  \frac{1}{x}  {)}^{2}  - 3(x \:  -  \frac{1}{x} )

 = (x \:   -   \frac{1}{x} )(x \:  -  \frac{1}{x}  - 3)

ii)a² x² + (ax² + 1) x + a

= a² x² + (ax² + 1) x +a

We multiply x(ax² + 1) = ax³ + x

= a² x² + ax³ + x + a

= ax² (a + x) + 1(x + a)

= ax²(a + x) + 1(a + x)

= (ax² + 1)(a + x)
