put x=-1
p(-1)=(-1)^3-3*(-1)^2-9*-1-5
       =-1-3+9-5
       =-4+4
       =0
x+1 is a factor.
divide the polynomial with x+1.
then you get,
q(x)=x^2-4x-5
then factorize it by splitting the middle term method
you get x=-1 and x=5
i.e -1,-1 and 5 are the factors
