Given :

z² - 5z - 6

By Middle Term Factorisation

= z² - 6z + z - 6

= z ( z - 6 ) + 1 ( z - 6 )

= ( z + 1 ) ( z - 6 )

Hence,

The factors of given equation are
( z + 1 ) and ( z - 6 ).

Zeroes :

z - 6 = 0

z = 6

And

z + 1 = 0

z = - 1

•°• z = 6, - 1

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
