here. a=10 , b=3 ,C=-4

We know that

D =b²-4ac

D=(3)²-4×10×-4

D=9+160

D=169

By using Quadratic Formula we get

$x = \frac{ - b± \sqrt{D} }{2a }$

Put the values

a=10, b=3,c=-4

$x = \frac{ - 3± \sqrt{169} }{2 \times 10} \\ x = \frac{ - 3±13}{20}$

First take (+) sign

$x = \frac{ - 3 + 13}{20} = \frac{10}{20} = \frac{1}{2}$

And now take (-) sign

$x = \frac{ - 3 - 13}{20} = \frac{ - 16}{20} = \frac{ -4 }{5}$
