hello,

-->12x^2 +17x-5
(find two numbers such tht their multiplication will be equal to (12×5)ie 60...and their addition or subtraction will be equal to 60...so 20×3=60 and 20-3=17)
-->12x^2+(20-3)x-5
-->12x^2+20x-3x-5
-->4x(3x+5)-1(3x+5)
-->(4x-1)(3x+5)
