12 {x}^{2} - 7x + 1 \\ 12 {x}^{2} - (4x + 3x) + 1 \\ 12 {x}^{2} - 4x - 3x + 1 \\ 4x(3x - 1) - 1(3x - 1) \\ (3x - 1)(4x - 1)

Answer :

Now, 12x² - 7x + 1

= 12x² - (3 + 4)x + 1, since 12 = 3 × 4

= 12x² - 3x - 4x + 1

= 3x (4x - 1) - 1 (4x - 1)

= (4x - 1) (3x - 1),

which is the required factorization.

Since, (4x - 1) and (3x - 1) are the factors of the given polynomial, 1/4 and 1/3 are zeroes of the given polynomial.
