STEP 1:

Equation at the end of step 1

 (24x2 -  x) +  184

STEP 2:

2.1     Factoring  16x2-x+184

The first term is,  16x2  its coefficient is  16 .

The middle term is,  -x  its coefficient is  -1 .

The last term, "the constant", is  +184

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant   16 • 184 = 2944

Step-2 : Find two factors of  2944  whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is   -1 .

     -2944    +    -1    =    -2945

     -1472    +    -2    =    -1474

     -736    +    -4    =    -740

     -368    +    -8    =    -376

     -184    +    -16    =    -200

     -128    +    -23    =    -151

For tidiness, printing of 26 lines which failed to find two such factors, was suppressed

Observation : No two such factors can be found !!

Conclusion : Trinomial can not be factored

RESULT:   16x2 - x + 184
