★ Given :

Polynomial : 2x² + 7x + 3

\rule{200}{1}

★ To Find :

We have to factoris the polynomial by spliting the middle term.

\rule{200}{1}

★ Solution :

Making factors of polynomial.

→ 2x² + 6x + 1x + 3 = 0

→ 2x(x + 3) + 1(x + 3) = 0

→ (2x + 1)(x + 3) = 0

→ 2x + 1 = 0

→ 2x = -1

→ x = -1/2

Or

→ x + 3 = 0

→ x = -3

\rule{200}{1}

For factorising we have to follow these given below steps :

Let polynomial be ax² + bx + c = 0

  • Firstly we will multiply a and c.
  • Then we will make the factors of their product.
  • The factors must be equal to b on adding or subtracting.
  • Then, we will take common
