Answer:

3 , 5/2

Step-by-step explanation

p(x) = 2x^3 - 3x^2 - 17x + 30

p(2) = 16 -12 -34 +30

       = 0

therefore (x-2) is a factor of p(x)

when we divide p(x) with (x-2) we get the remainder as 0 and the quotient as a second degree polynomial , so we can do factorization and find the value of x.

we get the answer as 2x^2 + x + 15

g(x) = 2x^2 + x + 15

      = 2x^2 -6x - 5x + 15

       = 2x (x - 3) - 5 (x+3)

       = (x-3)(2x-5)

therefor x = 3, 5/2
