Steps: We've to find two numbers which give 2 as the answer when multiplied and give 3 as the answer when added together.
So, just find the L.CM. of 2 and 1.
And you'll get 2 and 1 only, so, those are the two required numbers.

=2y(y+1)+1(y+1)
=(2y+1)(y+1)=0
