Question :-

Factories it .

→ 3 + 23y - 8y²

Answer :-

→ 3 and -1/8 are factors of this polynomial.

Explanation :-

If we need to factories any Quadratic firstly take it equal to zero and make coefficient of highest degree to positive.

→ 3 + 23y - 8y² = 0

multiply by negative sign on both sides

→ 8y² - 23y - 3 = 0

splitting the middle term

→ 8y² - 24y +y - 3 = 0

→ 8y (y -3) +1(y -3) = 0

→ (y -3)(8y +1) = 0

♣ Case (1) if ,

→ y - 3 = 0

→ y = 3

♣ Case (2) if ,

→ 8y +1 = 0

→ 8y = -1

→y = -1/8

→ 3 and -1/8 are factors of this polynomial.
