Step-by-step explanation:

3x² + 7x - 6

sum of numbers = 7

product of numbers = -18

Numbers are 9 and -2

Therefore equation becomes

3x² + 9x - 2x -6 = 0

3x ( x + 3 ) - 2 ( x + 3 )

( 3x - 2 ) ( x + 3 )

Now

3x - 2 = 0

x = 2/3

AND

x + 3 = 0

x = - 3

Therefore values of x are

2/3 and -3

there is some mistake with the question as factorisation is not possible with c = -16.... I'm.guessing it's a typing error as it is possible with c= -6 ... please do check and lemme know in Comment section

Step-by-step explanation:

 {3x}^{2}  + 7x - 6 = 0 \\  {3x}^{2}  + 9x - 2x - 6 = 0 \\ 3x(x + 3) - 2(x + 3) = 0 \\ (3x - 2) (x + 3) = 0 \\ 3x - 2 = 0 \: or \: x + 3 = 0 \\ 3x = 2 \: or \: x =  - 3 \\ x =  \frac{2}{3}  \: or \: x =  - 3
