To factorise:

4x^2 - 16y^2

= (2x)^2 - (4y)^2

Since a^2 - b^2 = (a+b) (a-b)

(2x)^2 - (4y)^2

= (2x + 4y) (2x - 4y)

Hope it's helpful to u.
