6x² - 7x - 3

Now we split the middle term such that the two nos. add upto -7x and multiplying them we get 18 (Multiply the coefficients of 6x² and -3)

So, instead of -7x we write -9x + 2x

6x² - 9x + 2x - 3

Now we take common

3x (2x - 3) + 1 (2x - 3)

(2x-3) (3x + 1)
