6x²-17x-3
6x²-18x+x-3. (splitting the middle term)
6x(x-3)+1(x-3)
(x-3)(6x+1)

6x × 6x -17 × -3,

= 6 × x × 6 × x - 17 × 1 × - 3.
= 6x square - 18x + x-3
= 6x (x-3)+ 1 (x-3) _ _ _ by Taking 6x+1 together,
(6x+1) (x-3).
