given \: expression \:  =  {6y}^{2}  + 11y - 7 \\  \\ firstly \: write \: 11y \: as \: difference \:  \\  \\  =  >  \:  {6y}^{2}  + 14y - 3y - 7 \\  \\  =  >  \: factor \: out \: 2y \: from \: the \: expression \:  \\  \\  =  >  \: 2y(3y + 7) - 3y - 7 \\  \\  =  >  \: extract \: the \: negative \: sign \: from \: the \: expression \:  - 3y - 7 \\  \\  =  >  \: 2y(3y + 7) - (3y + 7) \\  \\  =  >  \: factor \: out \: 3y + 7 \: from \: the \: expression \\  \\  =  >  \: (3y + 7)(2y - 1)

6y²+14y-3y-7=0

2y(3y+7)-1(3y+7)=0

(3y+7)(2y-1)=0

y=-7/3 , y=1/2
