8(2x -3y)^2-10(2x -3y)
=2(2x-3y)(4(2x-3y)-5)   (Factor out 2(2x-3y))
=2(2x-3y)(8x-12y-5) (Expand 4(2x-3y))

truck: Please explain this factorise i can understand
garylaupapvsl: 8(2x-3y)^2-10(2x-3y) what we can do firstly is take out common factor, that is 2(2x-3y)

so the next operation will be 2(2x-3y) times something

and now we factor the original equation with 2(2x-3y)

(I'll do it step by step)
8(2x-3y)^2 divide by 2(2x-3y)
=8(2x-3y)(2x-3y) divide by 2(2x-3)
=4(2x-3y)

-10(2x-3y) divide by 2(2x-3y)
=-5
garylaupapvsl: Combine both of them = 4(2x-3y)-5

so 8(2x-3y)^2-10(2x-3y) = 2(2x-3y)(4(2x-3y)-5)

and the next step we can do is expand the 4(2x-3y)-5 to simplify it.

4(2x-3y)-5=8x-12y-5

The final answer is 2(2x-3y)(5=8x-12y-5).

Hope this can help you :)
