8 + 6(a + b) - 5 {(a + b)}^{2}

 = -(5(a+b)²-6(a+b)-8)

 = -(5a+b²+4a+b-10a+b-8)

 = -((5a+4a-10a)+v²+(b+b)-8)

 = -(-a+b²+2b-8)

=a-b²-2b+8
