9a² - (a² - 4)²

= (3a)² - (a²-4)²

Using a² - b² = (a-b)(a+b)

= [3a - (a² - 2²)] [3a + (a² - 2²)]

= (3a - a² + 2²) [3a + (a-2)(a+2)]

= [3a + (2² - a²)] [3a + (a-2)(a+2)]

= [3a + (2-a)(2+a)] [3a + (a-2)(a+2)]

abbs98: not the answer
