(9x²–1) – (1 + 3x)²

= (3x –1)(3x + 1) – (1 + 3x)²

= (3x + 1){(3x –1) – (1 + 3x)}

= (3x + 1)(3x –1 – 1 – 3x)

= (3x + 1)(–2)

=(3x-1)
