factorise a^2-1-2b-b^2 by using proper identity​

Answer :

= a² - 1 - 2b - b²

= a² - ( 1 + 2b + b²)

  • Use identity a² + 2b + b² = (a + b)²

= a² - (1 + b)²

  • Use identity a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b)

= ( a -( 1 + b))(a +(1 + b)

= ( a - 1 - b )(a + 1 + b)
