a² -4a + 3 +2b - b²

= a² - 4a + 4 - 1 + 2b - b²

= (a - 2)² - { b² -2b +1 }

= (a -2)² - (b -1)²

[ use, formula, x² - y² = (x - y)(x + y) ]

=(a -2 - b +1 )(a -2 + b -1)

=(a - b -1)(a + b -3)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a2-4a+3+2b-b2

a2-4a+4-1+2b-b2

(a-2)2 - (b2-2b+1)

(a-2)2 - (b-1)2

Using identity a2-b2=(a+b)(a-b)

(a-2+b-1) (a-2-b+1)

(a+b-3) (a-b-1)
