GivEn:

  • a(a - 1) -b(b - 1)

SolutiOn:

a(a - 1) -b(b - 1)

➛ a² - a - b² + b

➛ (a² - b²) - (a-b)

➛ (a - b) (a +b) -(a-b)

➛ (a-b) {(a + b) -1}

➛ (a-b) (a + b - 1)

Hence;

The Factors is (a - b) (a + b - 1).

Extra Dose:

  • (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab
  • (a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab
  • (a + b)³ = a³ + b³ + 3ab (a + b)
  • (a - b)³ = a³ - b³ - 3ab (a - b)
