ANSWER:-

(a + b) - (a - b)

Remove unnecessary parentheses

a + b - (a - b)

when there is a - front of an expression in parentheses

change the sign of each term in the expression

a + b - a + b

Since two opposite add up to zero remove them from

the expression

b + b

Collect like terms

2b
