Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1 ) m² - 3m - 70

⇒ m² - 10m + 7m - 70

⇒ m ( m - 10 ) + 7 ( m - 10 )

⇒ ( m + 7 ) ( m - 10 )

2 ) 7p² + 21q²

We know that, a² + b² = ( a + b )² - 2ab

⇒ 7p² + 21q² = ( √7p + √21q )² - 2 ( √7p ) ( √21q )

⇒ 7p² + 21q² = ( √7p + √21q )² - 2√147 pq

3 ) a⁴ - 2a²b² + b⁴

⇒ ( a² ) ² - 2 ( a² ) ( b² ) + ( b² ) ²

This is of the form, x² + 2xy + y² which is equal to ( x + y )²

Hence,  a⁴ - 2a²b² + b⁴ = ( a² ) ² - 2 ( a² ) ( b² ) + ( b² ) ² = ( a² + b² )²

4 ) y² - 7y + 12

⇒ y² - 4y - 3y + 12

⇒ y ( y - 4 ) -3 ( y - 4 )

⇒ ( y - 3 ) ( y - 4 )

These are the required answers.

Hope they helped !!

Thanks !!

shreya4352: 1 st one why u took 10 m +7 m
Steph0303: Because the middle term is -3m and the last term is 70.
So we must take two numbers such that when we add we get middle term and when we multiply we get the last term. So I took -10 and 7 so that when we add we get -3 and when we multiply we get -70 :)

a) m^2 - 3m - 70

m^2 + 7m -10 m -70

m( m+7) -10( m +7)

( m-10)(m+7)

b) 7 p^2 +21 Q^2

7 ( p^2 + 3 Q^2)

a^2 + b^2 = ( a+b)^2 - 2ab

7( (p +√3 Q)^2 - 2 √3 p Q)

c) a^4 - 2 a^2 b ^2 + b^4

( a^2 - b^2)^2

d) y^2 - 7 y + 12

y^2 - 4y - 3y +12

y( y-4) -3( y -4)

( y-3)( y-4)
