We have,

 \quad \: {x}^{2} - 8x + 7 \\ \\ = {x}^{2} - (7 + 1)x + 7 \\ \\ = {x}^{2} - 7x - x + 7 \\ \\ = x(x - 7) - 1(x - 7) \\ \\ = (x - 7)(x - 1)
Henceforth,
 \underline{ \boxed{ \quad \tt\red{ {x}^{2} - 8x + 7} \quad = \quad \tt\green{(x - 7)(x - 1)} \quad}}

SolutioN:-

♀ x² - 8x + 7

=> x² - ( 7 + 1 )x + 7

=> x² - 7x - x + 7

=> x ( x - 1) - 7 ( x- 1)

=> (x - 1) ( x - 7)

Verification:

=> ( x -1)( x - 7)

=> x ( x - 7 ) -1(x - 7)

=> x² - 7x -x + 7

=> x² - 8x + 7

Hence, verified

So , factors are ( x -1 ) ( x- 7)
