=a⁴-b⁴+2b²-1

=a⁴-(b⁴-2b²+1)

b⁴-2b²+1 is of the form X²-2XY+Y²=(X-Y)²

X=b²  Y=1

So, b⁴-2b²+1=(b²-1)²

=a⁴-(b²-1)²

=(a²)²-(b²-1)²

(a²)²-(b²-1)² is of the form (X²-Y²)=(X+Y)(X-Y)

X=a²      Y=(b²-1)²

=(a²)²-(b²-1)²

=(a²+(b²-1))(a²-(b²-1))

=(a²+b²-1)(a²-b²+1)
