 {x}^{2}  - 4x + 2

 {x}^{2}  - 4x =   - 2

 {x }^{2} - 4x + 4 =  - 2 + 4

 \sqrt{x - 2 ^{2} }  =  \sqrt{2}

x - 2 =  +  -  \sqrt{2}

x = 2 +  -  \sqrt{2}
