12x^2 - 44x - 45

12x^2 - (54 - 10)x - 45

12x^2 - 54x + 10x - 45

6x (2x - 9) + 5 (2x - 9)

(2x - 9) (6x + 5)

Now,

2x - 9 = 0

2x = 9

x = 9/2

And,

6x + 5 = 0

6x = -5

x = -5/6

Hence, the values of x are 9/2 and -5/6
