Given:-
- Factorise by using factor theorem - 6x² + 17x + 5.
Formulae Used:-
- Factor theorem.
Now,
Let first Split the middle term.
6x² + 17x + 5
Here , p = 5 , Q = 6 So, p × q = 30, We would Split the middle term like that adding it becomes 17.
6x² + 15x + 2x + 5
3x( 2x + 5 ) + 1(2x + 5)
(3x + 1) (2x + 5).
So, These are the factors of P(x).
Now,
3x + 1 = 0
3x = -1
x = -1/3.
&
2x + 5 = 0
2x = -5
x = -5/2.
Hence, The Zeroes of P(x) is -1/3 and -5/2.
