Given:-

  • Factorise by using factor theorem - 6x² + 17x + 5.

Formulae Used:-

  • Factor theorem.

Now,

Let first Split the middle term.

6x² + 17x + 5

Here , p = 5 , Q = 6 So, p × q = 30, We would Split the middle term like that adding it becomes 17.

6x² + 15x + 2x + 5

3x( 2x + 5 ) + 1(2x + 5)

(3x + 1) (2x + 5).

So, These are the factors of P(x).

Now,

3x + 1 = 0

3x = -1

x = -1/3.

&

2x + 5 = 0

2x = -5

x = -5/2.

Hence, The Zeroes of P(x) is -1/3 and -5/2.
