Hi ,

a⁴ - b⁴ + 2b² - 1

= a⁴ - ( b⁴ - 2b² + 1 )

= a⁴ - [ ( b² )² - 2 × b² × 1 + 1² ]

= ( a² )² - ( b² - 1 )²

= ( a² + b² - 1 ) [ a² - ( b² - 1 ) ]

= ( a² + b² - 1 ) ( a² - b² + 1 )
