Hi Friend !!!

======================

2x²+11x-21

= 2x²+14x-3x-21

= 2x(x+7)-3(x+7)

= (2x-3)(x+7)

x = 3/2 ......OR......x = -7

Hope it helps u :-)

Hi mate !!

Here's the answer !!

Equation = 2x² + 11x - 21

We can solve this question by method of splitting the middle term.

- 21 * 2 = - 42

So now 42 must be expressed in terms of two numbers which on adding or subtracting must give 11 as the answer.

So 14 and - 3 on adding give 11 as well as 14 * - 3 = - 42.

Hence the middle term can be splitted as:

2 x² + 14 x - 3 x - 21 = 0

Taking common divisors out we get,

2x ( x + 7 ) - 3 ( x + 7 ) = 0

=> ( 2x - 3 ) ( x + 7 ) = 0

=> 2x - 3 = 0 ; x + 7 = 0

On solving both we get,

x = 3 / 2 ; - 7

Hope my answer helped !!

Cheers !!
