Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y^{2}+2y+10

FORMULA

y^{2}= \frac{-b+/-\sqrt{b^{2-4ac} } }{2a}

a= coefficient of y^{2}

b= coefficient of y

c= constant

Now, substitute in the formula

=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{2^{2}-40 } }{2}

={-2+/-\sqrt{4-40}}/2

={-2+/-\sqrt{36}}/2

=-\frac{-2+/-6}{2}

=\frac{-2+6}{2} =0 or \frac{-2-6}{2} =0

\frac{4}{2} =0 or \frac{-8}{2}=0

2 or -4 is  the root of this equaion

Thus y=2or y=-4
