Answer :-

(p - 6)(p - 6)

Solution :-

p² - 12p + 36

Write the end terms as squares

= (p)² - 12p + (6)²

Now write middle term in form of - 2ab and above a = p, b = 6 to get the above expression as a² - 2ab + b²

= (p)² - 2(6)(p) + (6)²

We know that

(a - b)² = a² - 2ab + b²

Here

• a = p

• b = 6

Substitute values of a and b in LHS of the identity

= (p - 6)²

= (p - 6)(p - 6)

Identity used :-

• (a - b)² = a² - 2ab + b²
