Solution:-

Given Quadratic Polynomial Equation:-

=) x² - 20x - 1500 = 0

=) x² - ( 50 - 30 )x - 1500 = 0

=) x² - 50x + 30x - 1500 = 0

=) x ( x - 50 ) + 30 ( x - 50 ) = 0

=) ( x - 50 ) and ( x + 30 )

=) [ x = 50 ] and [ x = -30 ]

Steps to Solve Questions by splitting the Middle term Method!

  • First we splitt the middle term of the Equation into two term such that the sum of Splitted term must be equal to the original term.

Ex :- Middle Term = 20

Splitted term = 50 & 30

=) 50 - 30 = 20

  • Then we too check that the Product of the Splitted term must be equal to the Product of First and last term of the Equation.

Ex:- Splitted term = 50 and 30

=) 50 × 30 = 1500

Product of the first and last term = 1500 × 1 = 1500.

Answer:

\sf {x^{2} - 20x - 1500}

=》 \sf {x^{2} - 50x + 30x - 1500}

=》 \sf {x (x - 50) + 30 (x - 50)}

=》 \sf {(x+30) (x-50)}

=》 \sf {x= (-30), 50}
