Factorise the following:
1. x2 - xy + x - y
4. 3xy + 7x - 7y - 3y2​

Answer:

3x + 7x = (3 + 7)x = 10x

-5xy + 9xy = ( -5 + 9)xy = 4xy

1.x² -xy + x-y

=> x(x-y) +1(x-y)

=> (x+1)(x-y)

2. 3xy +7x -7y -3y²

=> 7x-7y +3xy -3y²

=> 7(x-y) +3y(x-y)

=> (x-y)(3y+7)
