factorise the following 3 x square - 1 x minus 4

= 3x^2 - 1x - 4

= 3x^2 + 3x - 4x - 4

= 3x(x + 1) - 4(x + 1)

= (x + 1) (3x - 4)

3×(-1)=x-4
3×1=x-4
3xx=-1+4
3x=3
x=3/3
x=1
