4x^2 + 24x + 20

=x^2 + 6x +5

=x^2 + 5x + x + 5

= x(x+5)+1(x+5)

=x+1 or x+5

therefore

x=-1 or x=-5

Step-by-step explanation:

take \: 4 \: common \: in \: the \: gien \: eq \\  {x}^{2}  + 6x + 5 \\  {x}^{2}  + 5x + x + 5 \\ x(x + 5) + 1(x + 5) \\( x + 1)(x + 5) \\ take \: x + 1 = 0 \:  \: and \: x + 5 = 0 \\ x =  - 1 \:  \: and \: x =  - 5 \\ hence \: the \: value \: of \: x =  - 1 \: and \:  - 5
