Step-by-step explanation:

x^2-19x-92

x^2-23x+4x-92

x(x-23)+4(x-23)

(x+4)(x-23)

x=-4,+23

given :- x² - 19x - 92

to factorise it, first we needa multiply the last term with the first term (only the numerical value)

here the first term is x², and last term 92.

= 92 × 1

= 92

now we have to find the pair of it's multiples which makes 19 (coefficient of the middle term) either by subtracting or adding with each other.

pair of multiples of 92 :-

1 and 92, 2 and 46, 4 and 23

if you check all the pairs, you'll get only 4 and 23 which makes 19 by subtracting.

23 - 4 = 19

now, write it as follows

= x² - (23x - 4x) - 92 (since 19 = 23 - 4)

= x² - 23x + 4x - 92

make two pairs of first two terms and last two terms

= (x² - 23x) + (4x - 92)

= x(x - 23) + 4(x - 23)

= (x - 23) (x + 4)

this is your final answer. if you want to find it's zeroes, then simply equate both the factors by 0.
